Facts About Arctic Terns


Did you know that Arctic terns hold the record for the longest migration of any bird? These incredible birds travel from their breeding grounds in the Arctic all the way to the Antarctic and back each year, covering a distance of about 25,000 miles! Arctic terns are known for their graceful flight and agility, often hovering over water to catch fish and small marine creatures. They have a lifespan of up to 30 years, which means they can travel over 750,000 miles in their lifetime.
