Teaching English, specifically to kids, is always a little difficult ๐. As a concerned parent, I know the importance of learning English quickly. To help you, I have made a list of perfect ๐ฅฐ English activities.
Use these enjoyable exercises for young learners to assist your child in practicing their English at home ๐ก. English abilities, such as speaking, writing, listening, and reading, will be developed through these recommended activities.ย
Amazing English activities for your kids
Try these entertaining, kid-friendly ๐ English speaking exercises, and you’ll see them eagerly anticipate their next practice โฒ๏ธ time.
Password
Playing password games ๐ฎ with my kids always helps me to enhance their vocabulary. Your child should be made to stand in front of an entire class ๐จโ๐ซ of children with a phrase written on a sign covering his or her head.
To guess the word, the group of children must provide the child standing holding a placard with clues regarding the word. If the term is “orange,” for example, it may be an indication that the fruit ๐ name and color are the same.
Disappearing text
You can welcome a friend of your child into your house. On the whiteboard, write a statement, then cross out each word one at a time.
Seeing who can recall the original writing on the whiteboard all the way to the end will be entertaining.ย
Throughout the game, you can hear pronunciation mistakes. Disappearing text is a unique way for kids to practice their English.
Chain spelling
This one is my favorite ๐ and an innovative ๐ก style to engage your kids in learning.
This is one of the most creative English exercises for children that concentrates on honing ๐ listening comprehension and spelling proficiency at the same time. Give your children and their pals a word when they are standing in a row.
The first child will speak the first letter spelled correctly, and the second child will say the next letter. If someone is wrong, they can take a seat. Play this game again using other terms.
Would you rather
The English speaking ๐ exercise for children, which I am going to recommend to you, is one of the teachers’ and parents’ personal favorites. You should pose stimulating and thought-provoking questions to your children based on these two fictitious situations.
You can be as creative as asking someone, “Would you rather jump on a cloud or slide on a rainbow?” Get ready to hear some unconventional ideas!
Picture it
I would recommend you gather some children, a whiteboard, and a pen ๐, and get ready for an entertaining spoken English lesson! Give a child an assignment to consider any picture.
Superheroes, monsters, or aliens would make excellent choices. This child now has to tell his or her partner about the ๐ธ picture. Using the description as a guide, the pair will sketch the image on the whiteboard ๐จโ๐ซ.
Hide and direct
You can encourage your children to take part in this English speaking ๐ exercise, where they must be fully aware of the instructions.
One partner will conceal an object in a room ๐ corner while the other partner is blindfolded in the competition of hide and direct.ย
The child wearing the blindfold will use the partner’s directionsโsuch as left, right, beneath, above, etc.โto find the hidden object.
Guess Who
Have you heard about this activity? You Can play it easily with your kids. To play Guess Who, you need children in a team of two. Create chits featuring the names of well-known individuals. A chit will be chosen by each partner.
Only one child ๐งwill see the chit’s name. With yes/no questions, the other will make an educated assessment as to the personality.
The names of well-known cartoon characters are also yours to keep. Kids can play this game to improve their spoken English and vocabulary.
Yes or No
This activity is one of the most entertaining and engaging activities ๐ that is available in the entire list.
Pairs can also play the game “Yes or No.” A closed-ended question will be posed to the opposite partner by one partner. Here’s the catch, though! It is forbidden for the other partner to respond with a yes or no.
You can use any other word or sentence. For example, in response to the question, “Do you like to draw?” one could say, “I love to draw,” or, “I am not a fan of drawing.”
Memory
Memory ๐ง always plays an important role while learning and understanding any language. You can boost your kid’s memory power ๐ with this activity.
Give children a minute to see five little objects.
Step 3: Hide the things from them and count the number of things your children can remember.
If you believe that your children can easily recall five objects, add more items to the game to make it more difficult.ย
This fun way for kids to practice speaking English is to play memory games, which improves both their speaking and recall ๐ค skills.
Fruit naming game
You can play this game with your kids in your free time โฒ๏ธ to have some fun with little ๐ learning.
To do this, have the kids gather in a group and pass around any fruit ๐. They should then take turns saying the fruit’s name and even spelling it.
Fizz or Buzz with numbers
Like me, you can too play this quick game to review numbers at the start of class and at the conclusion!
Your kid will rapidly recite the next number when the teacher calls ๐ out a number, with the exception of any numbers that begin with a three or a 5, in which case they must substitute a Fizz or Buzz. If you make a mistake by any chance, just sit down and wait for the next round!
Scavenger hunt
If you are looking for a fun activity, then this activity is for you. Scavengers and treasure hunts are a lot of fun! Allow your children to work in pairs or small groups and send them scurrying around in search of items on a list.
This activity’s best feature is how quickly you can modify it to meet your children’s current level of English language learning!
The last man standing ๐งโโ๏ธ
This one is full of fun. For this one, you just need a ball ๐ฅ and your learners. Give your children a topic and have them stand in a circle.
After that, they’ll pass or throw the ball around while uttering brief phrases or words that pertain to the subject.ย
Urge them to continue moving forward at an ever-increasing paceโanyone who falters will be terminated!
Stop the Bus
Now, I am going to tell you another timeless game that has been taught in classrooms all around the world for many years! Provide your children with a worksheet, or let them create a grid with several sections.
After that, you’ll shout out a letter, and your children will have a certain amount of time to think of anything that begins with that letter for each category. You can evaluate everyone’s responses and award points at the conclusion!
Sentence building
I would recommend you encourage your children to practice putting phrases together! With the language you are learning, compile a lengthy list of fully formed phrases and sentence structures, then print them out in a large enough type so you can easily cut them out.
Allow your children to work in groups to construct short or lengthy phrases repeatedly by shuffling all the words!
What Am I? Game
You can challenge your kids ๐งwith this activity.
In this low-prep game, have your kids guess what they are! It’s entertaining! You will give each of the students a noun (a person, an item, or an animal, for example), and they will have to ask their fellow students questions to figure out what it is without knowing!
With small groups, you can use sticky notes ๐ or ask your children to stand with their backs to the board and write their answers on it.
Conclusion
I hope you will like ๐ all these activities. The spirit of cooperation and teamwork is another lesson these English-speaking exercises will impart.
With these entertaining games and activities in your place, your children and their close companions will eagerly anticipate their next play dates.
