how to draw a big ben
Step 1:
Start with a vertical line and then draw a triangle at the top; this will form the pointed tip of Big Ben’s spire.
Step 2:
Add rectangles and squares beneath the triangle, making sure the width is proportionate to the height to create the first architectural tier.
Step 3:
Draw another rectangle beneath the first, slightly wider to give a sense of the tower’s structure.
Step 4:
Now draw rectangles and squares as shown in the picture.
Step 5:
Draw another rectangle and squares, slightly wider to give a sense of the tower’s structure.
Step 6:
Continue adding rectangles beneath each other, each slightly wider than the last, to form the tapered shape of the tower.
Step 7:
Now, begin adding details starting from the initial square. Sketch small squares and elongated ovals as shown in the picture.
Step 8:
Inside the housing, draw a circle for the clock face and a smaller circle within for detail. Divide the clock face into four sections with two lines meeting at the center. Add clock hands pointing to twelve and three. Draw rectangular windows and architectural details on tiers below for depth and realism.
Step 9:
Add lines and shapes to suggest doors, bricks, and stonework texture.
Step 10:
Continue adding lines as shown in the picture.
Step 11:
Finish by shading or coloring your drawing to bring Big Ben to life. Color it with shades of yellow, brown, and grey.
