Today’s drawing session focuses on a simple yet interesting subject: a cap. You might wonder why we’re drawing a cap.
It’s a great way to practice capturing shapes, textures, and small details, which is helpful for artists interested in fashion or everyday items.
When drawing a cap, pay attention to its form, the curve of the brim, the shape of the crown, and how it would sit on someone’s head.
Let’s pick up our drawing tools and explore the features that make a cap both useful and fashionable. Ready to start sketching this stylish accessory? Let’s get started!
How To Draw A Cap
Step: 1
Start by drawing a large, curved dome shape. This will be the top of the cap. Ensure the curve is smooth and round.
Step: 2
Next, draw lines from the top of the dome down to the base, dividing it into sections. This will make the individual panels of the cap, making it look more realistic.
Step: 3
Draw a small circle on top of the dome to represent the button. Next, draw the bill by extending a long, curved line outward from the base of the dome.
Step: 4
Draw a line parallel to the first one along the curve, connecting it back to the bottom of the dome.
Step: 5
Add another line inside the bill to make a border, making it look more defined and structured.
Step: 6
Finish your drawing by adding color. Choose vibrant hues for each panel and the bill to make your cap stand out.
