Jeremy Clarkson went on a search for the best roads in the world. Well, he found the Transfagarasan Highway of Romania to be the “king” of all roads in the world!
Sapanta-Peri: The tallest wooden church!
Why are churches built so high? [To maintain the supremacy and feel a power of god protecting us].
But, how high or long can a church be? ANY GUESS?
Well, 78 meters is the answer!
The Sapanta-Peri is not just the tallest wooden church in the world… but it is also termed to be the second largest building in Europe!
Situated in a small village in North-western Romania, it also got one more feather in his ‘record’ crown! It is declared as one of the UNESCO heritage sites!
Scărişoara Glacier: Let’s take a look into Romania’s largest ice caves!
Romania is not just an attraction above the land, but also underground!
Have you ever heard about the Bihor Mountains in Romania? The second-largest underground glacier in Europe is located under this mountain.
It is said that this 75,000 cubic meters wide glacier has been there for around 3500 years.
The Scărişoara Glacier was first discovered and researched by the scientist Emil Racovita. His hypotheses about this glacier were published in renowned papers!

The tallest rock sculpture in Europe is in Romania
At 55 meters high, the statue of the Dacian king is located in Romania!
Decebal that has been cut into the rocky bank of the Danube is the tallest rock sculpture in all of Europe!

On the border between Serbia and Romania (also along the beautiful banks of the Danube), the Statue of Decebalus can be seen.
This is almost 43 meters tall and 25 meters wide. It is currently ranked as the sixth-largest in the entire world!!

In Cluj-Napoca, there is a forest known as Baciu Forest.
It is thought to be the most supernatural place on earth. It is regarded as one of the most haunted forests in the world

You know what, it is said that possessed girl’s ghost can be seen. The caretaker continued to string dolls…as if he was trying to calm the dead girl.

Coliboaia cave: The oldest cave painting found!
Cave drawings are proof of history!
How the ancient people used to convey messages to each other.. how they felt.. most importantly, how civilization started… All of these can be learnt from cave paintings.
Well, 13 drawings, which date back to around 32,000 years, show animals like rhinoceroses, buffalo, horses, and cats.

Romania’s ceremonial dance…Căluşul, is listed on the UNESCO List of Immaterial Cultural Heritage.
This is a very old dance. The Căluşul tradition is a part of the mixed Jewish-Roman thaumaturgical games for Christians…dating back to the first centuries of Christianity or earlier.
The movement is thought to mimic both a horse galloping and dancing with fairies.
