Did you know that galaxies are vast systems made up of stars, gas, dust, and dark matter, all held together by gravity? There are billions of galaxies in the universe, each varying in size, shape, and color. The three main types of galaxies are spiral, elliptical, and irregular. Our galaxy, the Milky Way, is a spiral galaxy that contains our solar system. Galaxies can collide and merge, creating new structures and triggering star formation.
